Current Problems in 2D Numerical Modelling of Water Flow in the River Channels
Grmelová, Eliška ; Skokan, Jiří ; Juriga, Jan ; Chrástová, Veronika ; Pospíšilík, Šimon
Currently, the use of two-dimensional numerical models in modelling water flow in river channels and floodplains is quite common. The quality of hydraulic calculation results is influenced by the number of input parameters. However, crucial in this context is primarily the availability of calibration data. Commonly used data from historical flood records are often burdened with significant uncertainties and, in many cases, are completely lacking. One option to ensure suitable calibration data is to measure flow rates and velocity fields in selected calibration profiles, e.g., using the ADCP method (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler). The presented article showcases the authors' experiences with the calibration of a 2D numerical model applied to a real location, specifically using the mentioned method. The focus of the calibration lies mainly in the values of Manning’s roughness coefficients and parameters of turbulent models. The conclusion of the article includes a discussion of the results and recommendations for further research directions in the field, which appear promising for practical applications.
Reinforced concrete structure
Vaněčková, Adéla ; Čairović, Dorde (referee) ; Šulák, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of bachelors thesis is to design of the frame monolithic reiforced concrete frame construcition of a multistoried garage. Project designe sof a typice storey of construction. The supporting structure consist of a frame consisting of rungs, which are stored by beams and slab. Rungs are supported by columns. Reaction of the structure are transmitted to the foundation soil by footings. The design was made according to standard ČSN EN 1992 – 1 – 1. Structural analisis was modeled using Scia Engineer 20014 – Student vision. The results were validated by simplified manual method.
Hydraulic assessment of surge waves in the Strekov weir reservoir
Stříž, Jaroslav ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The main aim of the thesis is to assess the origin of surge phenomena, primarily surge waves at the weir pool Střekov, using the selected methodology. The paper is divided into several parts. There is a brief introduction to the problematics and research of possible solution methods, followed by a verification of these methods on a physical model and finally an application of a numerical method for an assessment of the chosen locality.
Study of static behaviour of selected agricultural objects
Horský, Vojtěch ; Zídek, Rostislav (referee) ; Brdečko, Luděk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of static behavior of agricultural buildings, evaluating their existing state using two-dimensional and three-dimensional construction models. Elements that serve to improve static effects of constructions are implemented into these models or replace the currently used elements. Strains of the modified constructions are calculated are applied to qualify the implemented elements and designed joints.
Vane pump
Mach, Jiří ; Jandourek, Pavel (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
This work gives basic information about vane pumps, especially with unbalanced construction and vanes led by rotor. The first chapter generally gives an attention to pumps. There are described basic information, classification, advantages and disadvantages of the types, characteristics and calculation relations. The following chapters describe the vane pumps in the way of classification, description of function and calculation relations. There is also made a practical calculation of vane pump according to the assignment accompanied by CFD analysis.
Quantification of hydrodynamic load on overflowed bridge deck using 2D numerical simulation
Pavlíček, Michal ; Hrdlička, Libor (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on a quantification of hydrodynamic load of overflowed bridge deck. Solution was pursued by using two–dimensional numerical simulation of open channel flow in vertical plane created in ANSYS 15.0 software (modules: Workbench, Design Modeler, Meshing, Fluent). Values of drag force, lift force, moment, drag coefficient, lift coefficient and moment coefficient is result of computation. Various types of bridge decks were tested in relation to the degree of inundation (inundation ratio) and flow velocity. The thesis provides comparison of numerical simulation with physical experimental testing and result published in accessible resources.
Reinforced concrete structure of a multistoried garage
Klajba, Daniel ; Švaříčková, Ivana (referee) ; Šulák, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of bachelors’s thesis is to design monolithic reinforced concrete ceiling structure of a typical storey of a multistoried garage. The supporting structure consists of a frame consisting of rungs, which are stored by beams and slab. Rungs are supported by columns. Reactions of the structure are transmitted to the foundation soil by footings. The design was made according to standard ČSN EN 1992-1-1 for ultimate limit state. Structural analysis was performed using Scia Engineer 2012 – Student version. The results were validated by simplyfied manual method. Structure was modeled using Scia Engineer 2012 also in 3D together with second option of ceiling structure – locally supported plate. Comparison between these two variants was made.
Comparision of design of cast-in-place structure with / without consideration of process construction
Vlach, Jakub ; Juchelková,, Pavlína (referee) ; Strnad, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to propose and evaluate static three-storey reinforced concrete structure. For static analysis supporting structure was used computer program based on FEM SCIA - Engineer 2013 - student version. In computing program have been two independent computational models and in 2D and 3D space. The results were compared and evaluated with each other. On the basis of the report is drafted drawings consisting of reinforcement drawing and drawing shape.
